Yahoo Equals Four Times Google.

It’s been an alarming week. In 7 days with Yahoo Publisher Network (YPN), I have earned more than I did in the entire month of November on AdSense, or approximately 4 times as much as I did with AdSense. I have not had a single-digit earning day since I started. This means that I’ll be sticking with Yahoo on that one site for the near future.

Note that although my overall earnings on YPN are 4 times that of AdSense, the earnings per click at YPN seems to be somewhere between 3 and 100 times my AdSense earnings. Yes, as much as 100 times in my targeted niche. In my case, earnings per click have been inconsistent on AdSense, and rather consistent on YPN.

I will probably implement AdSense on new sites, as the ads are better targeted and will therefore receive more clicks than YPN. I am afraid that a new site with YPN would not receive any clicks. Then, when I believe the site is receiving enough clicks through AdSense (no idea how I’m going to decided how many is enough) I will switch to YPN. I’d like to experiment with adding YPN on one of my new sites, but no new sites have been launched for these ideas, and will not be launched until January.

If YPN continues on it’s path consistently, I am currently earning mid-4-figures per year on one site, which should make a 5-digit 2006 quite achievable.
